چکیده

The main protein in alveolar bone and dentin is collagen.' Two thirds of the total amino acids found in collagen are composed of glycine, alanine, proline, and hydroxyproline.' The hydroxyproline in collagen is derived almost exclusively from hydroxylation of proline. Thus the proline molecule may enter collagen in two ways: as proline or as hydroxyproline.2 4 Many studies have used radioactive labels

Alveolar bone development after decoronation of ankylosed teeth

Decoronation of ankylosed teeth in infraposition was introduced in 1984 by Malmgren and co-workers (1). This method is used all over the world today. It has been clinically shown that the procedure preserves the alveolar width and rebuilds lost vertical bone of the alveolar ridge in growing individuals. The biological explanation is that the decoronated root serves as a matrix for new bone deve...

Immobilization of the Erupting Molar in the Syrian Hamster

The eruption of teeth, like many growth processes, seems to be an orderly and patterned sequence of events. The speed and frequency with which this process occurs make it ideal for studies in development and growth. Yet the interplay of growing tissues that results in eruption, although important, is still a problem. A number of theories have been proposed that attempt to explain the eruptive m...

The Expression implication of GDNF in ventral horn and associated remote cortex in rhesus monkeys with hemisected spinal cord injury

Objective(s): Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) can effectively promote axonal regeneration, limit axonal retraction, and produce a statistically significant improvement in motor recovery after spinal cord injury (SCI). However, the role in primate animals with SCI is not fully cognized. Materials and Methods:18 healthy juvenile rhesuses were divided randomly into six groups, obs...

Comparison of Alveolar Ridge Preservation with Autograft Cancellous Bone Transplant and PRF Following Canine Tooth Extraction in Dog

Objective- Due to its specific position, the canine tooth is more exposed to the injuries, fractures and pulp necrosis. In these cases, the damaged teeth are usually pulled out. The root of this tooth is very large and sometimes extends over the premolar teeth. To extract it, a large amount of alveolar bone tissue should be harvested. Moreover, the cavity remains very large, wh...

Functional cues in the development of osseous tooth support in the pig, Sus scrofa.

Alveolar bone supports teeth during chewing through a ligamentous interface with tooth roots. Although tooth loads are presumed to direct the development and adaptation of these tissues, strain distribution in the alveolar bone at different stages of tooth eruption and periodontal development is unknown. This study investigates the biomechanical effects of tooth loading on developing alveolar b...
